Steve Allison has been gracious enough to speak with us today to let ‘all’ out there know a little more about their franchise, as well as why they chose the ‘LuXe’ brand as one of the absolute best investments out there.

 

I would like to begin by asking what made you specifically go down the ‘path’ of opening a franchise instead of, say, a small business? 

 

My family has been a part of Carpet One franchises for twenty-five years. And owning a franchise makes sense in this current economy, rather than attempting to open a “mom and pop shop” on your own. With a franchise, the marketing concepts, design, and ‘how to’s’ are already set in place and easy to follow, which makes becoming a franchiser the only real opportunity to open a new business with an already successful and profitable history.

 

What drew you specifically to Massage/FaceLuXe?

 

My wife worked for the Tan Company, which is MassageLuXe’s sister company, for six-and-a-half years.  We originally began to look at opening a Tan Company, but decided that we wanted to do something that adds to a healthy lifestyle, and where there would be no negativity. It is also extremely easy to operate. In addition, we saw the company was growing and expanding by leaps and bounds, and we very much wanted to get in at the ‘ground level.’ I mean, imagine if you started with McDonald’s when they’d first opened and how monumental your franchise would have become! We knew the outlook for the massage industry was huge as far as growth was concerned, and we wanted to own multiple units, so that’s when we became area developers with the rights to eleven locations to own/franchise.

 

How long has your particular franchise been open?

What do you feel are the characteristics that make Face/MassageLuXe so unique from the rest of the spas/salons out there?

Yes, another amazing gift when it comes to MassageLuXe is the fact that the employees truly take pride in what they do, and are proud of their educations. It was an absolute priority for us that our employees had a comfortable, state-of-the-art breakroom, which even includes a bed they can take naps on and relax, cable television, and a full kitchen. We currently employ over thirty therapists, and not only are they the most experienced and professional team in the massage business, but they prove every day that being happy and doing what you love does show in your work. This positive attitude helps to make us very successful.

 

What is the Allison’s ‘concept’ of how to manage and be a successful franchise of MassageLuXe?

 

We are very hands-on owners, which we feel is a necessity in order to ensure excellent customer service.  We have also owned several successful businesses that have given us the tools and knowledge to make this franchise a success for us and our employees. So being able to have that background and join with a company that’s expanding so much every single day is really amazing.
