Rescue Street Dogs in Bulgaria by Voting Online
An English couple who have committed to saving homeless dogs in Bulgaria need online votes to make a shelter for the vulnerable canines they are helping.
Not many people in this world commit to staying away from home in order to save the helpless life suffering on streets in a remote land. One English couple that has selflessly devoted itself to this grand cause is that of Diane and Tony Rowles who moved to Bulgaria in 2007 and seeing the miserable situation of stray dogs there decided not to return to their home country but start helping the vulnerable canines in Bulgaria.
This brought about the foundation of the home-based rescue/shelter called Rudozem Street Dog Rescue (RSDR), a non-profit that rescues at-risk dogs on the streets and finds them loving, forever homes. With dozens of dogs taken in at their house, Diane and Tony do face a number of challenges in the way of their altruistic commitment to helpless dogs. Not only are authorities apathetic, even hostile toward their efforts, but the sheer noise made by the barking of the rescued dogs has been a concern for fear of evoking a reaction from the neighborhood.
The biggest challenge, but of course, always is to prepare a shelter where the dogs can stay protected, fed, and warm as the harsh winter in the country with loads of snowfall is a constant threat to stray canines’ lives. At the moment, the dogs stay at the house of the English couple and they desperately need a separate place with a better construction that can shield them from rough weather and not endanger them with public reaction from the neighborhood.
This need reflects in the dream of Anita Weber at the sunsuper dreams website where a contest is running for a prize of $5000 to a canine rescue organization. Numerous people familiar with RSDR’s work for the vulnerable dogs in Bulgaria have voted for the organization. The contest runs till June 30 and anyone can vote online for their choice of organization in a minute. With 1832 votes, RSDR is currently one of the top two organizations competing for the prize.
