Judge in Brazil Too Busy to Hear Brutal Dog Killing Case
Identity of Brazilian man killing a helpless dog in a brutal video has been revealed. But the concerned judge says he has no time to hear the case against the offender.
Last month Houston News Online reported on the brutal killing of a dog in North Limoeiro, Brazil, wherein the violent scene was caught on video tape by an accomplice and uploaded to the Internet. An update on the case informs that the real name of the aggressor has been revealed to media. However, the concerned court has no time to hear the case against him.
Sources from Brazil, privy to Houston News Online, report that the man clubbing the dog to death with a wooden rod has been identified as Antônio José da Costa, age 40, while the name of his accomplice, who videotaped the killing scene, laughing and chatting, has not been made public yet.
Referring to Brazilian media, this paper’s source told that the victimized dog’s owner, Maria Ivone, identified her dog after a friend of hers showed the video which had created a public outcry against the violent killing of a harmless dog crying in pain and trying to escape from the aggressor. She reported to the police and they registered a case of cruelty against da Costa.
However, police sources told media that the concerned judge was not ready to hear the case because he had too many cases to deal with and was not likely to get a chance to hear any new cases until next year. The said court reportedly deals both civil and criminal cases. Another source maintaining anonymity to media in Brazil informed that the dog killing case will first be examined by the public prosecutor and only then scheduled for a hearing before the concerned judge.
This is inexcusable! Brazil get your act together. I would never visit here with this injustice.
