Court hearing delayed in Belfast, Lennox supporters smell ulterior motives
Supporters of the Belfast dog Lennox suspect that the court in Belfast has delayed the judgment due today for some insidious reasons.
The court hearing for Lennox, the death row dog held in Belfast for two years, has been delayed as informs the supporters of Lennox on Facebook. The update is verified by sources in Britain, privy to the Houston News Online. The source says that it spoke to the concerned court’s office and was told that the judgment has been delayed. It says that apparently the judgment has been reserved and will be issued at a later date though no specific date has been fixed for the same yet. 
The question bothering Lenox’s supporters, which number in several thousands from all around the world, is what possibly could cause this delay. Given the past record of the case, they do not trust the Belfast authorities or the court which sentenced Lennox to death without any history of aggression. Perhaps the answer is not so difficult to guess: the Olympic Torch.
To protest the Belfast authorities’ abuse of power and demand Lenox’s release to his family, his supporters started an online petition that demanded ‘No Olympic Torch for Belfast’ unless Lennox is freed by the Belfast City Council. Thousands of people signed the petition and asked for boycotting the Olympic Torch ceremony in Belfast scheduled for June 6 this year. This is what lennox’s supporters suspect now—that the Belfast court has delayed the final hearing to buy more time for the Olympic Torch to pass through the city.
This suspected trick of the court is akin to throwing dust in the eyes of Lennox’s supporters. But perhaps the court is not aware that those wishing Lennox safe against Belfast’s monkey business can’t be tricked like this so easily. All supporters of Lennox demand that Belfast be denied the Olympic Torch unless it sets Lennox free BEFORE June 6, 212. Those supporting Lennox say that the unexplained delay in Lennox’s case is unacceptable and condemnable and it will be a shame for the Olympic Committee to allow celebration of Olympic Torch in Belfast while its government victimizes innocent animals and their families.

i don’t understand why this hearing was delayed it should never have gone on or got to this stage in the beginging don’t they realise the impact all this is haveing on this family never mind what lennox his self is going through i am tatally appalled at the way belfast city council and the judge has treated this poor dog and his family it is about time they done the right thing and put and end to this and sent this boy home where he rightfully belongs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Totally agree, boycott Belfast from having the Olympic Torch. This is an abuse of their power and beyond contempt.
Two years is long enough to sort out any case. They are just holding out thinking (wrongly) that the Lennox family will walk away. Well news for the Belfast Court and BCC, they will not and Lennox supporters will not.
Lennox did no wrong, the only case it the way he looks. Wrong address on warrant, fake profiles on FB by the wardens. Dirty trick.

I am just wondering whether they are delaying the decision deliberately to coincide with the visit of the Queen and the Olympic Torch to Belfast. As I have already said, this could be very good for Lennox.
Or it could be very bad for Lennox. Maybe they don’t want to either kill or sentence him to death before the torch arrives, fearing the backlash from supporters if they do. Imagine what would happen with the focus of the world already on Belfast as protests continue and erupt even more furiously… What would people think of Belfast who know nothing about Lennox then, once they find out what was done to him and why?

I read with tears in my eyes what this poor boy has had to endure for nothing apart from his looks. Taken from his home and family to b incarcerated in a concrete cage and kept away from his family for 2yrs. Its now time Belfast CC did the right thing and sent him home before 6th june. Absolutely ridiculous they know and we know they have messed up big time and locked away an innocent animal for doing no wrong. Given the disgraceful on-line behaviour of some of those supposedly in authority we can only just imagine what the family have had to put up with. The question is is the justice system in Belfast there for the ordinary citizens or is it just going to roll over and do the bidding of their local Council who clearly have a lot to answer for in this case. Stop this now and let that poor innocent dog, who has been caught up in their power games for over two years now, go home.
I am ashamed and disgusted at how the council of my beautiful city is behaving over this matter including going as far as to commit perjury. This matter would have been sorted long ago, if the judge was a competent one and an actual professional dog behaviourist was involved instead of a cop who knows nothing about such matters.
Ugh! The whole thing is a farce, plain and simple.
I live in Belfast, but I wholly agree with the boycotts that are being called for. I would like to see the Torch but not if Lennox isn’t freed first. Sadly, I can’t see him being released any time soon. The BCC has gotten hearings put off over and over. It’s sickening.

As a citizen of Belfast, is there anything that you can think of to do to make a difference for Lennox?
Absolutely disgusting and extremely disturbing in the manner Belfast authorities/council (judge, warden, non-expert animal behaviorist) have handled this case. Not only should they immediately release Lennox, they should all be charged with torturing Lennox.
Many supporters question if the Belfast Monsters have perhaps already killed Lennox or maybe his health is so very poor that they are AFRAID to procede and let the world find out what they’ve done to this poor innocent boy. This whole ugly matter has changed the travel plans of SO MANY – Belfast can rot in their own blood thirsty venom.

Ok Ally F’s argument’ as far as I can fololw it is this. In most DV situations where police are called an arrest does not take place. In situations where the perpetrator is female there is an arrest in 1 in 3 reported incidents. In situations where the perpetrator is male, there is an arrest in 1 in 10 reported incidents. This therefore PROVES that the police are biased and assume (falsely) in a situation where no one makes a complaint that the victim is female. Eh? a)Ally is ASSUMING that all the couples involved are heterosexual.b)he is ASSUMING that the police are biasedc)he is ASSUMING that when no arrest is made it is because the identity of the perpetrator is ambiguous’. I don’t know where he draws any of these conclusions from. He has no evidence whatsoever to support them. Yet he is determined to argue that in fact they show that more men are victims of domestic violence than is generally acknowledged when they PROVE nothing of the sort. And this isn’t a thread about domestic violence.

Why the delay! Two years has gone by .. Has anyone outside the BCC seen Lennox? Why is his family not allowed to vist him? HAVE THEY KILLED HIM!! I didnt bother with the Olympic Torch when it came to my town In respect of ALL the strays that got MURDERED in all the countrys and heres a thought. Lennox has been registered with the council for years, the family have followed the rules and regulations BCC set; so why after years with no episodes or history of aggression did they take him in the first place! they to add insult to injury keep this farce up for two years at the detrement of the barnes family and of cause Lennox ! who despite this still appears to be a happy dog, and did not turn aggressive which I am sure a poodle would do if taken from his family and left in these conditions scared and confused.
I really dont understand why animal welfare laws dont apply to the conditions he has been kept in whilst in the “care” of BCC, his skin conditions appear to have deteriorated and is the enviornment he appears to be kept in appropriate ? My understanding is this there is a basic level they have a duty of care to provide? Enough is enough let him home now BCC this is the only way the world is indeed watching this story !

When does this dog have his day in court?! ENOUGH! The majotpr concern here is that it is apparent the Belfast legal system is either broken or corrupt. No case takes this long for a resolution, not even the trial of the 911 bombings!!! How sad is this case! Much sweeping under the carpet, delays, entrapment, false allegations, avoidance, financial loss and emotional ditsress for no founding reason……this is what Belfast do when no evidence is available yet they want a criminal. Well look into the council chambers ……you will find many.

My biggest fear is that Lennox has already been murdered. As a greatgrand child of Irish immigrants, I am horrified by the Belfast Government’s actions (or inactin as the case now stands). Thank God my family hails from the South of Ireland. On my next visit, you can bet I won’t be traveling north!

I think it’s very sad when people who live in the beautiful city of Belfast say they are ashamed to be from there because of what a judge and a bunch of liars have said and done. It’s extremely sad that this same judge and bunch of liars think it’s o.k. to torture this family and their beloved dog (other family member) for two years for absolutely NO REASON other than their own false pride. My fear is that they are attempting to hold off till after the torch has passed through because they have already put Lennox to death. I pray that this is not true. The brutality in which this government operates is despicable, and there are no possible excuses or arguments that could ever justify the actions taken against Lennox! These people are completely heartless and at this point, just trying to prevent looking absolutely incompetent (which they already do) on top of heartless in front of the whole world by sticking to their mis-judgement. I don’t agree with BSL, but if you’re gonna enforce it at all, don’t do it on dogs that have not committed any aggressive acts, and especially not on dogs that have not even shown any aggression ever; and never have a death penalty for dogs that have committed aggressive acts. It’s not the breed, but the people that raise them, and just because a dog is powerful by nature, doesn’t mean that they’re aggressive or dangerous by nature. You can’t just measure a dog’s legs and snout to determine how dangerous it is. How absolutely ridiculous does that sound? The belfast city council (they don’t deserve capitalized letters) are in the run for the most ridiculous government agency ever! They need to put they’re egos aside and just accept they were wrong, and even though they will never be able to make up for the misfortune they have brought upon Lennox and his family, they could maybe retrieve a minuscule fragment of humanity. THIS IS AN EXTREME OUTRAGE!

He would have been sent home on the 24th if the judge planned to do so. I think people are right that this is a kill decision that is being postponed until after the Olympic Torch event. Everyone needs to shout that he needs to be sent home before the event or else the event will see much dissension. God!

I cant understand WHY its taken so long to set Lenox free. the damage the council is doing to the dog due to not being with his loving family and to the family is out rageous if it was a human being mis treated you council people would have it done and sorted with in a few weeks yet it seems your trying to find a little of something which is NOT one ounce true there is NOTHING wrong with this dog who hasn’t done a darn thing yet your mistreating him and you feel this is right? It is so sad for this dog to be held as long as he has considering he has done absolutely nothing wrong – nor has his carers. There are so many evil and cruel people out there walking around, using their dogs as weapons and fighting them, yet all this time and money is being put towards an animal and people who have done nothing criminally wrong !
The time is long overdue to allow dear Lennox to be returned to his family. It is time that the Irish justice system put their time and energy into clearing up the thousands of cruelty cases they have in their systems. The time is now to right for all the innocent dogs – and their carers ! BSL is a nasty and cruel law which has claimed the lives of thousands of wonderful dogs and torn apart families !
This dog couldn`t be thing like also dog couldn`t be active justice subject . Every passive justice subject has a responsible active justice subject ,in this case “owners“ of Lennox are active justice subject .
No Court could punish passive justice subject like never could punish 3-4 years old child but only his parrents.
What like justice system is if punish 3-4 years old children ?
